Docto Aiyk - Brown Sugar

Here's a fresh single from Docto Aiyk himself; one of my favorite artists from the East. "De Doc" calls this song a "sweet" result of his romance and experimentation with soft rock alternative. The fans are told to expect an album from him around mid 2009.

One has to appreciate his ability to breeze across music genres with so much ease. What do you think?

For those who have been following notjustOk.com ardently, u would remember a post where we announced the birth of a very ambitious record label called YES! Records, under the umbrella group, Yes Media. Here's a lil excerpt from their official website:

The first annual Yes Concert in the UK will happen on the 27th of February 2009 at the prestigious Troxy Venue in the East of London (490 Commercial Road, London E10HX). The concert will feature big names in the Nigerian music industry such as 9ice, J. Martins, M.I, Shank, Timaya and many more on the same stage with the new Yes music artistes G-XPloits and Steel. The show will also be graced by ace producer ID Cabassa and up and coming R&B artiste Michael.

If you're in or around London, go show them some love.

AKA Double R, Matt Sesoo's other half in the SkunkWerkz group. He is spittin over the T-Pain Go Hard instrumental just like Matt did a week or so ago.

Roger has a different style when compared to Matt, but I would like to hear more from him.

Rico White - Letter 2 Nigeria

AKA White Boy Pee.. AKA Perico Good Price White... Lol! These Afrigang boyz have so many AKAs it cracks me up.
Now to the music, this track is solid lyrically and if its not obvious to you from the title, I'll let you know that it is a conscious song. I like the way Rico inserted all those popular Fela quotes into his music. I'm diggin it.

Douye - Fly Away

Douye’ is a Nigerian born singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles, California and she just released a new album titled "Journey".

Her music style is Soul, Jazz and some R&B. This is a melow, grown folk type song. Teenagers and youngins in their early 20s will have no clue (Who knows I might be wrong). The older people who frequent the jazz clubs will definitely want to add her album to their collection. I'm diggin it, her style is similar to Kem's.

Zara - The FLyeST

Brand new track from Zara. This is the first single from her forthcoming album... Good effort, she raps playfully and keeps it feminine in her delivery.
