100 Dollar Laptop

One Laptop Per Child is a project focused at improving education in developing countries around the world. The intention, as their name states, is to raise as much revenue to give each child a laptop not just for the sake of having a laptop, but in Kofi Annans words; "The magic lies within—within each child, within each scientist-, scholar-, or just-plain-citizen-in-the-making. This initiative is meant to bring it forth into the light of day".

Currently, these laptops are being tested by some 300 students at LEA primary school in the Galadima area of Abuja in Nigeria. Mrs Juliana Okonkwo, a teacher at the school feels lucky and truly believes that there will be progress in the long run. Read, watch and listen more about the whole thing here... The Premise:
A guy and his girlfriend took the HIV test. His test result turned out negative while his babe tested positive. Now, he is asking the group for advice on how he should proceed with the relationship... Below is an excerpt of a reply from one of the readers...

I was shocked and puzzled to read this particular reply.  Now I am sure there is a sub-culture of individuals with that particular mindset. I disagree with this type of thinking. If you ask me, it is pure selfishness bringing a child into this world with the risk of them contacting diseases let alone HIV from BIRTH...
