Blair Singer sent me an email today that I think is worthy of mention. Common sense but still NotJustOk
"Dear mola,
In a recent Instructor
Training Program with
Robert Kiyosaki, there were two key points
that emerged. The first one is this..
Be powerful and play to win!
“Do you play to
win or do
you play not to lose?” You
have to be willing to go to the edge, to look into the
abyss and risk. You cannot win if you are operating
from a place of not losing.
Secondly, if you want to
win you have to
have “power.” We defined power as the ability
to:
Lots of people take
positions or points of view, but
can’t hold them. They allow themselves to get
knocked off their positions by others. They
compromise their dreams, their visions and even their
talents. Why in the world would you allow others to
dictate your direction and aspiration? Sometimes it’s
those closest to you that knock you off the easiest.
Know what I mean?
As an instructor or
presenter in front of a room, I
have to hold my position. This is true as a business
owner as well. Yes, I may upset 5-10% who don’t
like my message, my attitude or my approach but at
least I am consistent and directed and I will find
those who ultimately do. It’s like Bill Cosby said, “I
don’t know the key to success, but I DO know that
the key to failure is trying to please everyone.”
Do not allow others to
knock you off your position!!!
Be bold. If given the choice between being
remembered as bold or wimpy, which would you
choose?
There are some that can
take a position and hold it,
but who are so arrogant, they refuse to change it,
even though there is overwhelming evidence that
they are taking down the whole ship in the process.
Either way, power is
about being able to do all
three. It requires a Code of Honor and an inner
strength.
“We are entrepreneurs. We
create
income without a paycheck.”
“Ethics is
something
we practice everyday... not just talk about.”
