Lol!!! This is what the music game needs in naija. He covered damn near every Lagos slang.
Pseudo dictionary for most of the naija slangs, dude breaks everything down well!

A for Agboro
B for Bus Stop
C for Carry Go
D for Duro!
E for Egbe e...
-from The Agbero's Alphabet :p
Not bad, but of course it's ironic that his Lagos Language dissertation is delivered in pigin - which is only understood by people who know all these terms! I like it, though.

Good stuff. But... half the things he said actually came from Warri, NOT Lag. I'm sure y'all know Waffi's d source of all mainstream pijin slangs. Words like "19", "Agbero", etc... I grew up on most of the words back in Delta.

lol... oluseyi makes a good point.
@ ovie: abeg wats 19?
Posted by: kriticque | November 24, 2008 at 08:55 AM
19 from 419, now known as yahoo yahoo.
Warri must be a special place can't wait to visit. True talk Ovie, but that is still the way they talk in Lagos.. LOVE IT. Not just ok.. Major props to you.

@Kriticque: Egbe's explanation of "19" is spot-on.
@Egbe: yeah! u should definitely hit up Warri sometime. If u're into slangs, the Warri/Sapele area will be ur heaven. I occasionally call my boys back home mainly to get updates on the latest yarnings. Some make it mainstream, some others stay local. As per Waffi boy, I no fit carry last.
